SCRA Applied R&D’s Jon Tirpak Named ASM International President

SCRA Applied R&D’s Jon Tirpak was appointed as ASM International Board President during their annual business meeting held at the Materials Science & Technology Technical Meeting and Exposition in Columbus, Ohio.

Tirpak, Senior Program Manager for SCRA Applied R&D’s Advanced Materials Division, is directly involved in materials-dependent technologies. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Forging Industry Association – Department of Defense Manufacturing Consortium and as Senior Program Manager of the Defense Logistics Agency’s PRO-FAST program, both managed by SCRA.

“Jon is a valuable member of our team and will continue to serve ASM International very well in his new capacity on the board,” said SCRA Applied R&D President Chris Van Metre. “We congratulate Jon on achieving this milestone.”

Tirpak is a licensed metallurgical engineer in South Carolina and past trustee of ASM International, formerly chairing the New Products and Services and the Federal Affairs Committees and currently serving on the Finance and Investment Committees. He has been a member of ASM since 1980.
