AOL taps Microsoft veteran as tech chief

AOL Inc. says it has named Alexander Gounares as its new chief technology officer, bringing a long-time Microsoft Corp. veteran on board to help guide strategic direction roughly five months after the company was spun out of Time Warner Inc.
