Tesla Motors IPO opens 12% above offer price

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) - Tesla Motors shares opened at $19 a share Tuesday, 12% above the offer price of $17 a share in the much-anticipated public debut of the Silicon Valley electric car maker.
