Japanese Government Asks for Assistance with Reactor Events

U.S. nuclear regulatory commission says Japanese government, which is scrambling to avert a meltdown at a stricken nuclear plant, has formally asked the U.S. for help with cooling nuclear reactors. The US nuclear regulatory commission said it is considering possible replies to the request, which includes providing technical advice.
