Ms Milner spoke candidly about the problems facing our youth and her motivation behind the guidebook. Her motivation is guided by her faith in God and the word of God. Her logo is taken from John: 3:16,
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
Her organization that she is founding is Mentoring Youth for Christ.
In my interview with Ms. Milner I asked her why she chose this particular name.
Her reply, The church wants to box the talents and gifts of our youth for their eyes only but God wants our youth to minister to the world. Their goal is to bring individuals to Christ. In order for youth to minister they must have a strong foundation that is based on the word of God. They have to study the Bible, build a relationship with God and walk in his image. Their gifts must be dedicated to God and used for his glory no matter what career God chooses for them. Everyday our youth are faced with television, videos, and commercials, bombarding them with sex, drugs, alcohol, and violence. They have to deal with peer pressure, family issues, depression, suicide, teen pregnancy and other maladies. Unless they are armed with the armor of God they cannot deal with all the problems they will face in the world. By creating this organization my goal is to prepare youth to first build a strong foundation in God and secondly to be able to minister to the world by walking in the image of God.
Ms. Milner one of your common phrases is if you are part of the drama why would anyone want to know the God you serve.
Her reply was quick. f you are a bully then you invite a friend to church. Their question would probably be what kind of God you serve.
"The Rejuvenation of the Church": Meeting the Needs of our Youth was released in April 2013, Workbook and Guide is a series of parent and youth workshops. Why did you extend the book to a guide book?
Some organizations could not afford the total expense of the workshop so I created the guide book so organizations could order the book and conduct the workshop themselves.The proceeds from the book sales; speaking engagements and workshop facilitation fund Mentoring Youth for Christ.
