Teens Take Over the State Capitol Monday

The YMCA’s Annual Youth In Government is in Session Next week
PRLog - Nov. 20, 2013 - DENVER -- On Monday, Nov. 25, over 150 teens in the YMCA’s Youth in Government Program will take over the State Capitol to hold a three-day mock legislative session and experience the political process first hand.

This is the only program of its kind that offers this type of access to Colorado’s legislative offices. Photo ops of students and legislative leaders will take place each day.

WHEN: Nov. 25-27, 2013

WHAT: A mock General Assembly where students will hone their leadership, collaboration, and communication skills through bill writing, lobbying, debating, and voting

WHO: Over 150 Colorado middle school and high school students in YMCA’s Youth in Government Program

WHERE: State Capitol, 200 E. Colfax Ave., Denver

WHY: The YMCA Youth in Government Program builds character traits that help students become involved, responsible adults and respected leaders.
