PRLog - Mar. 20, 2014 - BERLIN, N.J. -- Star Career Academy, with eight schools in three states, unveiled a new logo as the organization and its faculty and staff rededicate themselves to the mission of a commitment to student success by providing a supportive educational environment and quality career training while enriching the community it serves.

Last year, Star Career Academy placed more than 1,300 graduates in a career training related area. Star graduates are employed in a wide variety of settings across the country, from restaurants and hotels to hospitals and physician’s offices.

Long Island (NY) Chef Barrett Beyer, a Season 11 contestant on Hell’s Kitchen said, “Star helped me to learn how to work as a member of a team in the kitchen and also be creative as an individual. Today I can tell people that I am a chef and I have been places only few have been to in such a short period of time.”

Career changer Michele Rogers, a medical assistant at Advanced Urgent Care in Langhorne, Pa. said, "Star Career Academy has wonderful instructors and a great clinical…which really prepared me for my current position."

Nigerian immigrant Julius Ogbu, a unit assistant at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Pa. added “Thanks to Star, I am doing what I love to do, and I am 100 percent dedicated to it.”

Because of its commitment to the communities in which it operates schools, Star Career Academy recently became a certifying organization with the President’s Volunteer Service Award Program which thanks and honors Americans who, by their demonstrated commitment and example, inspire others to engage in volunteer service.  As a certifying organization, Star Career Academy can recognize and honor its volunteers through the program.

Star Career Academy (SCA) was founded in 1979 as the Star Technical Institute school group, offering career training in drafting and design.  In 1983, the school diversified its training programs with the introduction of business, computer and allied health programs, ultimately choosing to specialize in allied health training. The school developed programs such as medical assisting, medical billing, surgical technology, electrocardiography, dialysis technician and multi-skill health technology.  The Philadelphia campus added a paramedic program, authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
