PRLog - Apr. 9, 2014 - BOSTON -- The Unforgettable Prom Foundation, an organization committed to providing the ultimate prom experience for teens ages 12-19, affected by cancer, announced today that it will host its first Boston prom experience on June 6, 2014 at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common. The event, A Prom to Remember: Boston, will invite teen patients and former patients from New England hospitals who are currently battling or have recently battled cancer.

A Prom to Remember is an event that gives teens affected by cancer an opportunity to celebrate their youth in an environment of camaraderie, as they dance the night away. Attendees are treated as stars as they arrive in luxury transportation and walk the red carpet. The prom is held at no cost to the teens or their families. A Prom to Remember: Boston will cover all expenses, including luxury transportation to and from the event, tuxedos, dresses, jewelry, and hair and make-up services. The theme of the event will be “A Starry, Starry Night,” and will boast a DJ, buffet dinner and live entertainment throughout the evening. Hospital and nursing staff serve as chaperones for the evening, ensuring the comfort and well-being of all guests.

“We started this event in Fort Lauderdale five years ago because we believe everyone deserves a special prom experience – so we wanted to give teens affected by cancer the best one possible,” said Brandon Opre, president and founder of The  Unforgettable Prom Foundation. “As we grow the organization to different cities like Cleveland and Boston, we rely on the support of local hospitals and communities to help make this special evening possible.”

The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common has generously offered its ballroom venue and services for this special prom event to ensure that guests enjoy an exceptional prom ambiance. A Prom to Remember: Boston is currently seeking monetary donations, volunteers, salon services and donations for prom accessories such as dresses and tuxedo services.

“We’re excited to bring this incredible event to Boston and provide New England teens affected by cancer with an unforgettable night full of dancing, music and entertainment,” said Wendy Nichols, chair of the Boston event. “We can only make this happen with the help of the Boston community – we are incredibly grateful for the support we’ve received so far, and are excited to work closely with more Boston organizations and volunteers to make our inaugural event as special as these teens deserve.”
