Comcast posts earnings of 68 cents a share vs 64 cents estimate

Analysts had expected Comcast to report earnings excluding items of 64 cents a share on $17.03 billion in revenue, according to a consensus estimate from Thomson Reuters. Recently, the company announced a deal to buy Time Warner Cable in a $45 billion all-stock deal, but the proposal has since run into regulatory headwinds.
