Aspire Institute Promises to Impart Life Skills to Somali Kids through Advanced Technologies

Traditional schools certainly impart very basic lessons of life, science and social studies to young students. However, majority of traditional educational institutions fail to inculcate the life skills that the young children need to excel in their later life. Aspire Institute, a Minneapolis based child training and development institute run by a Somali entrepreneur and educator, has recently launched a series of child development programs. These programs are aimed at all-round growth and development of the Somali kids, who in many cases are less privileged and do not receive adequate training.

Led by a visionary, Mr. Abdirahman Ahmed, who is a noted educator and entrepreneur, Aspire Institute has launched a slew of after-school courses for African kids. The young and dynamic entrepreneur believes that the courses launched will benefit African and Afro-American kids in various ways. The institute aims to impart professional skills, entrepreneurial skills and technical skills so that the kids can learn how to sustain in their professional and academic life. To put it differently, the institute strives to prepare every student future-ready, with the help of advanced technologies and specially trained faculty.

Mr. Ahmed, the founder member of Aspire Institute recently addressed a small cluster of local journalists in Minnesota where he explained his mission and vision. He said, “We are solely into child brain development and technology-based training. We want kids enrolled in our special institute to be trained in every possible manner so that they can become competent for the professional life. Our flagship programs are KidTech and Junior-Geek. Kidtech program is designed for age group 8 to 16 to impart computer coding, animations, graphic design, game development, robotics, 3D modeling and creative writing skills etc. Junior-Geek program is for age group 16 to 24. Junior-Geek we put emphasis on technical, professional, communication and entrepreneurship skills development. technical and professional skills development.

 Mr. Ahmed, is owner of well know Safari Restaurant and Event Center in Minneapolis. He is also does entrepreneurship training through NDC. He holds several degrees, including a Bachelor’s of Commerce and Computer Science and a Masters of Commerce from Osmania University and Bundelkhand University respectively; Graduate Certificates in Project Management and Information Technology from the University of St. Thomas; and a Masters of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. Ahmed aims now to provide well-rounded education to Afro-American kids through the institute or as he puts “transform their lives through technology”. A man of Somali descent, Mr. Ahmed is widely regarded for his significant contribution in twin cities through his business center and training.
