MANCHESTER, N.H., Oct 9 (Reuters) - GT Advanced Technologies Inc on Thursday revealed it intends to wind down sapphire production, cutting short its once-promising bid to supply the scratch-resistant material for Apple Inc's iPhones and other mobile devices.
