Expert panel will define “hoarding” and discuss fair housing implications for multifamily housing industry
PRLog - March 30, 2015 - AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Grace Hill, the leading provider of online education and learning management solutions for the multifamily housing industry, today announced it will host the webinar, “Let It Go Please! Hoarding IS a Fair Housing Issue” featuring fair housing experts, Nadeen Green and Doug Chasick CPM®, on Thursday, April 16th, 2015 at 2pm Eastern.

"Doug and I did not want to hoard the information that we have been gathering.  In the short time that we will be spending with attendees, we hope to provide some clarity and useful tips to contribute to the decisions that many industry professionals will likely have to make some day," commented Nadeen Green, senior legal counsel for For Rent Media Solutions. “The challenge of working with hoarders is to focus on the impact of their behavior and not the actual behavior. Being a hoarder in and of itself doesn’t automatically create a health or safety issue; what is being hoarded and how it’s stored is the real challenge for multifamily professionals. In this webinar we’ll discuss the fair housing implications of hoarding and much more,” said Doug Chasick, The Apartment Doctor.

The webinar event is part of the company’s month-long fair housing celebration, themed “it’s hip to be fair”, starting April 1st. “As the multifamily experts in education, we look forward to spotlighting fair housing training, hosting free learning events and providing fun content downloads that engage and educate multifamily professionals on a variety of fair housing topics facing our industry,” said Joe Bailey, CEO of Grace Hill.

All multifamily housing property management professionals are encouraged to participate in the free event and expand their fair housing knowledge:

The Fair Housing Act, Title VIII of the Civil Right Act of 1968, as amended, prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental and financing of housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap status and familial status. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) administratively enforces federal laws, executive orders and regulations designed to ensure all Americans have equal access to the housing of their choice.
