Medical Leader in Obstetrics & Gynecology Joins Babyscripts(TM)

WASHINGTON, DC / ACCESSWIRE / May 22, 2015 / Dr. Mark Reiter has been appointed chief medical officer of Babyscripts(TM), a physician-delivered, smartphone-driven pregnancy technology that improves patient compliance, optimizes reimbursement and increases patient satisfaction.

Dr. Reiter provides vision and leadership to Babyscripts, collaborating with physicians at academic medical centers and medical practices that use the Babyscripts technology. Prior to joining Babyscripts, he was the medical director of Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin (RHJN), the largest private OBGYN practice in Washington DC.

"The fact that Dr. Reiter, who was one of our earliest customers, has now joined our team is a huge validation to the innovation we are bringing to the world of obstetrics," said Juan Pablo Segura, Babyscripts president and co-founder. "We are honored to have one of the most respected obstetricians in the area support our efforts."

Dr. Reiter said, "I am very excited to have the opportunity to serve as chief medical officer for Babyscripts, an innovative new company utilizing mobile technology to both enhance clinical care to pregnant women and simultaneously improve operational efficiency for the health care providers. I believe this is just the beginning of a very successful venture into the future of health care delivery."

Babyscripts is a pregnancy technology that can only be obtained through an OBGYN. It is intended to extend prenatal care beyond the four walls of the clinic by first delivering evidence-based, OB-approved guidelines in the form of daily nutritional, medical and lifestyle action items through the smartphone.

Key to the Babyscripts experience, is its offering of its "Mommy Kit," a package delivered to an expecting mother's home that includes a wireless weight scale and wireless blood pressure cuff. Regular home use of these devices offers an additional source of information for physicians, as the data is captured and transmitted automatically to the patient and clinic.

By identifying patient trends, it offers physicians the ability to give smarter feedback to patients, potentially optimizing a patient's visit schedule. These benefits reduce costs and help physicians maintain a strong connection with their patients.

On a fast track for growth, Babyscripts recently signed with Duke University, RHJN and MedStar Health, a large health system in the Maryland and D.C. area. It is also involved in an ongoing pilot with George Washington University.
