UPDATE 1-Barrick to sell Cowal mine to Evolution Mining for $550 mln

NEW YORK, May 24 (Reuters) - Barrick Gold Corp, the world's biggest gold producer, said on Sunday that it had reached an agreement to sell its Cowal mine in Australia to Evolution Mining for $550 million.
