- World-renowned celebrity tastemaker and lifestyle expert Porter Brooks, famous for his hit television series Entertaining People and 2015 release of URBAN BITE, will be adding some American spice to an annual Mexican tradition by making an international appearance as a celebrity guest judge at Sabor de Baja, Mexico’s premiere end-of-summer event showcasing a culinary competition among 10 of Baja’s top chefs.
MANHATTAN, N.Y. - Aug. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- The event will be held at the ocean-front gardens of the Rosarito Beach Hotel on August 26, with an anticipated 700+ guests in attendance.
Participating chefs include: Diego Hernandez, Martin San Roman, Javier Placencia, Antonio de Liver, Manuel Brito, Erick Alcazar, Nadya Fernandez, Jaime Galindo, Iker Castillo, and Giannina Gavaldon.
“I was approached months ago about appearing at this event and my schedule would not allow being there. Thanks to a last minute change in tour dates, I am excited to attend. Baja, its food and residents, has been part of my life since childhood,” said Porter. “My first memories of food in Baja was riding down in my aunt’s 1970s pickup on the way to their Campo near Bajamar and stopping in a small village called La Fonda. There she would buy two dozen warm corn tortillas and with a salt shaker from the glove compartment and cube of butter with the paper pulled back, my brother and I would savor the warm toritllas as the melted butter ran down our chin. That’s when we knew the vacation had begun.” Porter has become a favorite on live television, entertaining his viewers with his high energy and unparalleled flair. With a background in event planning and a passion for entertaining at parties, Porter is expected to bring more boldness and fearless critiques to the judging panel.
