Love Your CultureHot on the heels of their one-year anniversary, the OTT platform signs a landmark partnership with the KingstOOn 2016 Animation Festival, which comes to fruition, March 12th and 13th 2016, at Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts.
KingstOOn is the Caribbean’s largest animation conference. The shores of Kingston are beaming with pride as they welcome international, regional and local industry leaders, universities, businesses, professionals, amateurs, students, and young dreamers to LEARN about, EARN from and DISPLAY animated creativity! This year there are more than twenty-eight sessions and features four distinct types of sessions: Seminars; Panels; Workshops; and Master Classes. The sessions will be facilitated by studio executives, Film and TV and Network creators as well as Emmy Award Winners.

The deal will allow the Network the rights to host all content from the finalists. “KingstOOn proudly partners with MAS2 TV as the sole video on demand / over-the-top broadcaster to enable the wider exposure of the finalists in this year’s KingstOOn International Film Festival (KIAFF) as well as entrants within the Caribbean Short Film category of the KingstOOn Emerging Animated Content Competition (KEACC). MAS2 TV represents the emergence and distribution of uniquely Caribbean and Afro-descendant content to the world, and KingstOOn gladly embraces the platform and encourages animators from around the Caribbean to explore the opportunities MAS2TV creates.” says Robert Reid, Animation Specialist and event organizer.
Qualifying content will be shown for free on the Network, on all four screens TV-via Roku, Web and non-connected devices such as IOS and Android apps for the first three months. After which, filmmakers and animators will have the opportunity to continue distribution of their content on the Network as part of its premium subscription library.
The KingstOOn 2016 Animation is a joint initiative between the Government of Jamaica, The Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining of Jamaica, The Caribbean Development Bank and the World Bank, in an effort to diversify the nations economy with the animation industry.
