GE Appoints Two Company Officers

GE today announces the appointment of two new company officers. GE currently has 186 GE officers globally. GE officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth.

Below is the list of GE’s two new officers:

Nigel Darby, 48, is vice president, Biotechnologies for GE Healthcare, a division within GE Technology Infrastructure.

Darby joined GE over six years ago as vice president, Research & Development for GE Healthcare - Life Sciences. Most recently he has been responsible for the Biotechnologies business within Life Sciences, managing a combined marketing, technology and product management organization and also serving as Chief Technology Officer for Life Sciences. The Life Sciences business within GE Healthcare is a supplier of tools and technologies for research, drug discovery and manufacturing of advanced medicines and vaccines.

Prior to joining GE, Darby was vice president, Enabling Science and Technology for AstraZeneca in Sweden, leading a global drug discovery organization. Previously, he was a scientist with the Medical Research Council in the UK and at the European Molecular Biology Lab in Germany. He holds a Masters degree in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University in the UK and a Doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Kent in the UK.

Heather (Xiaojun) Wang, 46, is vice president, Human Resources for GE International. During her 15 years at GE, Wang has held leadership positions within GE Lighting, GE Capital and GE International.

Wang joined GE in China in 1994. After graduation from GE's global Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP), she held HR leadership positions at GE Lighting and GE Capital - Information Technology Solutions in the United States. In 2002, Wang joined GE International as senior human resources manager for GE China, based in Shanghai. In 2005, she was promoted to senior HR manager for GE Asia Pacific and GE China, and in October 2008 to senior HR manager for GE International, headquartered in Brussels.

Prior to joining GE, Wang had 10 years of extensive business and HR management experience, including working for China International Trust & Investment Corp. in international trade, business development and operations; and with AT&T Beijing Fiber Optic Cable Co. in human resources management. She holds a M.B.A. from Rutgers University in New Jersey.
