Dillard’s, Inc. Reports March Sales Results

Dillard’s, Inc. (NYSE:DDS) (“Dillard’s” or the “Company”) announced today that merchandise sales (“sales”) for the five weeks ended April 2, 2011 were $519,844,000 compared to sales for the five weeks ended April 3, 2010 of $526,858,000. Total sales decreased 1%. Sales in comparable stores decreased 1% for the five weeks ended April 2, 2011. The Company notes that Easter Sunday occurred the first day of the April fiscal month last year and will occur the fourth Sunday in April this year. Because of this calendar shift, 2011 March sales results were negatively impacted by Easter shopping activity moving from March to April. The Company will provide combined March and April sales results on May 5, 2011.

Sales for the nine weeks ended April 2, 2011 were $1,012,455,000 compared to sales for the nine weeks ended April 3, 2010 of $1,026,049,000. Total sales decreased 1%. Sales in comparable stores decreased 1% for the nine weeks ended April 2, 2011.

During the five weeks ended April 2, 2011, sales were consistent with the average total Company trend in the Central region and slightly below trend in the Eastern and Western regions. Sales in the home and furniture category and juniors’ and children’s apparel were significantly below trend during the five-week period ended April 2, 2011.
