Aldila, Inc. Announces Appointment of New Director

POWAY, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/21/11 -- ALDILA, INC. (OTCQX: ALDA) (PINKSHEETS: ALDA) announced today that Alan B. Howe has been appointed to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Howe is currently Managing Partner of Broadband Initiatives, LLC, a boutique corporate development and advisory firm. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ditech Networks and Chairman of Selectica, Inc. as well as serving on a number of private boards.

From 2005 to 2008, Mr. Howe was Vice President of Strategic Development for Covad Communications Group, Inc., and was responsible for developing and implementing the company's wireless broadband strategy. Previously, Mr. Howe served as the Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development and Chief Financial Officer of wireless service provider, Teletrac, Inc. and before that he was a director of Corporate Development for Sprint.

Mr. Howe holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Illinois, and an MBA in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley Graduate School of Business.
