Allie Kline Promoted to Chief Marketing Officer of AOL Inc

AOL (NYSE:AOL) today announced Allie Kline has been elevated to Chief Marketing Officer of AOL and will lead the global marketing strategy for the company’s corporate efforts, video platforms, programmatic platforms and content marketing solutions group.

Kline has been with AOL since January 2013 as CMO of AOL Platforms, establishing the group as a leading programmatic platforms provider of choice for brand advertisers, agencies and publishers. She will continue to oversee marketing for AOL Platforms as it moves towards the Q1 2015 launch of ONE by AOL.

Erika Nardini, CMO of AOL Advertising, will transition from AOL to pursue other opportunities at the end of the year after a successful run over the last two years.

"AOL is uniquely positioned to help lead the revolution of consumer media and advertising platforms on a global basis,” said Tim Armstrong, CEO and Chairman of AOL. “Allie Kline has been a driving force in the growth of AOL’s media, advertising and publisher solutions platforms. Allie is an award-winning marketing strategist helping to fundamentally reshape the future of the company.”

Commenting on her appointment, Kline said: "AOL has seen a rapid shift to programmatic buying, while our clients are still demanding rich audiences. I have witnessed that first-hand. AOL has provided a clear vision for where the Internet is going and is building for it, from amazing premium and programmatic ad experiences to Emmy award-nominated original video series, and everything in between. I am incredibly excited to continue driving that strategy forward.”

AOL was No. 1 in comScore’s most recent October 2014 ranking of video ad properties, with the largest video ad reach on the Web.

Kline has more than 20 years in brand management and marketing strategy for technology-focused organizations. Previously, she was the Chief Marketing Officer for big data and social graph company 33Across, where she worked with over 375 Fortune 1000 advertisers and 650,000 global publishers.
