Rebecca Romijn Joins Carla Gugino in The Swinging Lanterns Stories

Action-Adventure Franchise Feature Film

LOS ANGELES, CA, December 04, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Rebecca Romijn and Carla Gugino have teamed up as sisters to head an ensemble cast in the upcoming fast-paced, action-adventure feature film, "The Swinging Lanterns Stories." The script is penned by writer-producing partners Ian Stokell and Lesley Paterson, who will also produce through their production company, Sliding Down Rainbows Entertainment.

"We needed two strong women to play the sisters, around which much of the film revolves; Carla Gugino and Rebecca Romijn fitted the bill perfectly," said Paterson.

The film centers on a group of adventurers who, despite twists and turns and seemingly insurmountable challenges, must solve a puzzle and protect the existence of a secret at all costs.

Says Stokell, "This is a story- and character-driven fun franchise that offers heart-pounding action and an entertaining unravelling of events, unfolding in an engrossing and compelling fashion onscreen."

Casting of the other diverse ensemble roles is currently in full swing, with production dates initially set for 2015 in tropical locales.

Stokell and Paterson are also writer-producers on another high profile feature film, "All Quiet on the Western Front," for which they hold the option on the world famous novel through their Sliding Down Rainbows Entertainment production company, which has Roger Donaldson directing.

Rebecca Romijn can currently be seen in TNT's The Librarians and is repped by UTA.

Carla Gugino will soon be seen in the Warner Bros feature film San Andreas and is repped by CAA.
