Stephen E. Garner Has Been Recognized Among the Top in His Industry by the Expert Network©

Shortly thereafter, he joined the law practice of former Georgia House Speaker Thomas B. Murphy, which later became known as Murphy & Garner, LLC. When asked what inspired him to go into law, Garner cited a motor vehicle accident he experienced in high-school:

"I went to a local attorney and asked him if he could help me get my property damage taken care of and he said, ‘Well, you would have been better off if you'd hit them broadside. Because you missed them,' he probably said, 'it will be hard to receive compensation'. But my seventeen year old ears heard 'I couldn’t recover the compensation'. I said, ‘Well, if that's the law it needs to be changed.’ From that point on I wanted to be a lawyer."

As a thought-leader in his industry, Garner is also an accomplished mediator. He regularly deals with representatives from insurance companies and knows how cases are analyzed by insurance adjusters. His experience and industry knowledge allow this firm to settle a majority of cases favorably, without the additional time and expense of a trial. He noted:

“One thing that's a little different about me is that I am also a mediator and I'm a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. So I have been in the room with the insurance companies as they're evaluating the cases. I know what they look for.”

Garner has taken part in mediator training at Pepperdine University Law School. He is also a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. With over three decades of experience, Garner is a valuable addition to the Expert Network.
