Gannett Co. Inc. (NYSE: GCI) offered to acquire Tribune Publishing Co. (NYSE: TPUB) in a deal valued at approximately $815 million. Shares of Gannett rose 72 cents to $16.49 while Tribune Publishing stock leaped $4.23 to $11.75.
