HOLLAND, OH, November 23, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- On November 18, University of Toledo Civil Engineering/Construction Engineering Technology students and Bowling Green State University Construction Management students took a tour through the Tower on the Maumee. Construction is already underway at the multifamily redevelopment project, which is located along the Maumee River in the downtown area of Toledo, Ohio.
The students' trip, offered by general contractor The Douglas Company, was made possible combining BGSU and UT students together for a day of learning. Students were exposed to the many complex pieces that must fit together precisely for a building to be constructed. The tour allowed students to view the scope of the renovation and construction processes of the historic tower.

The $20.4 million dollar construction project, being developed by The Eyde Company, will transform the top 11 floors of the vacant 400-foot-tall fiberglass tower into 106 luxury one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments, ranging from 719 - 1,265 square feet.
The Tower is expected to be complete in December 2017. The modern apartments, designed by Quinn Evans Architects, will feature amenities including stainless steel appliances, Italian tile, and marble thresholds imported from Italy and installed by Italian artisans. They will also include roller window shades, marble window sills, views from full-height curtain walls, and granite kitchen/island countertops.
