Hit the Green with the Walking Raven Annual Charity Golf Event

Walking Raven Retail Marijuana Center is thrilled to announce its inaugural Raven Charity Open golf event benefiting the Denver Colorado AIDS Project. The legalization of medical and recreational cannabis has had an enormous, positive impact on the HIV/AIDS community, because many patients choose to use medicinal marijuana to manage their symptoms. Walking Raven invites people from all walks of life to join them in supporting this benevolent cause and helping to shed light on a disease that has been overshadowed in recent years.

Jeff Trujillo, the marketing and events manager for Colorado AIDS Project elaborates:

“The face of AIDS has changed dramatically over the years. People are no longer dying in mass as they were in the eighties and early nineties. With the assistance of new drugs, people with HIV/AIDS are living longer, healthier lives. At the same time, media coverage around the disease has decreased, bringing about the misconception that AIDS is over, therefore decreasing the disease’s visibility and the amount of community funding for the organization. Consequently, more people are now turning to organizations like Colorado AIDS Project for assistance. ”

Walking Raven is determined to increase awareness around this serious issue. With this golf tournament, the dispensary hopes to raise charitable funds while starting a proactive conversation around HIV/AIDS.
