The moneyLENS app was recently released for Android phones, which will scan money for identification, convert to the user’s home currency, and optionally provide voice identification of scanned currency. It also has a currency calculator, which will allow the user to convert any amount of money from one country to another with current exchange rates.
The moneyLENS app can assist travelers by identifying banknotes of at least 57 countries by using the camera lens as a scanning device. The app will convert the currency amount scanned to the user’s selected country using exchange rates that are updated daily from the Bank of Canada.
The TTS function also allows individuals who are visually impaired to scan bills, and the app will provide voice identification and also exchange rates. It will identify and announce the currency correctly, so you’ll know what banknote you have in your hands. No more mistakes identifying the value of your money!
No network is required for the use of the app, so you can use it anywhere.
