Itron Inc. (Nasdaq: ITRI) will pay a premium of approximately $830 million in cash to acquire Silver Spring Networks (NYSE: SSNI). Shares of Itron soared $3.70 to close at $76.50 while Silver Spring Networks stock leaped $3.10 to close at $16.10.
