Target Donates $100,000 to Support Flood Relief Efforts in the Midwest

In keeping with its commitment to disaster relief, Target is donating $100,000 in cash and product to the American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and the Federal Emergency Management Agency to support the flood relief efforts in the Midwest.

Target immediately received and fulfilled requests for bottled water as the drinking water source for many communities was jeopardized as the result of the flooding. In total, more than 136,000 bottles of water were donated and that number is expected to increase over the next few days.

We extend our thoughts of comfort and hope for the communities suffering from these historic floods, said Laysha Ward, vice president, Community Relations, Target. We are grateful for the tremendous work being done by relief agencies and emergency management officials. We will continue to provide assistance as needed.
