The Graphic Element Named 2009 Small Business of the Year by Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce

Print and web design studio The Graphic Element was recently named 2009 Small Business of the Year by the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce. The honor was bestowed upon the company after several long-time customers nominated The Graphic Element and the work it has completed over the years. To be eligible, nominated businesses must be based in Manhattan Beach, and participate in city leadership, contribute to business and community enhancement and demonstrate high ethical standards.

“I am very proud and extremely honored to receive this prestigious recognition and truly appreciate the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce for its continued support of both small and large businesses in our community,” said Laura Missioreck, founder and creative director of The Graphic Element.

Missioreck strives to operate a fine-tuned business model and employs a tireless drive to make her community a better place through volunteering and contributing to community events. She is a member of several local organizations, including the Board of Directors of the Media Arts Foundation, Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Food Consultants Group.

“Image is everything when promoting a business or event. With my experience in art direction, PR and cinematic language, I can truly attest that Laura Missioreck and The Graphic Element have what it takes to create an effective, professional presence for any business or organization,” said Michael Hernandez, Media Arts teacher at Mira Costa High School and Apple Distinguished Educator.

One of The Graphic Element's areas of expertise is new company branding, rebranding of established companies, and new product launches including the design of food and retail packaging. This process incorporates logo design, advertisements, tagline, look and feel, and corporate identity, and plays to Missioreck's strengths as a forward-thinking Creative Director with a firm knowledge of how to get brands noticed.

In addition to corporate identity and branding, The Graphic Element concepts, designs, and produces high quality printed marketing materials such as brochures, catalogs and online projects including websites and social media marketing campaigns. Clients represent businesses ranging from major food companies to individual consultants.

In the Manhattan Beach area, The Graphic Element is involved in projects such as the developing a new website for the Mira Costa College and Career Center, and creating logoed merchandise for the Manhattan Beach Little League and the International Surf Festival.
