Southwestern College Welcomes Chief Technology Officer To The Staff

As the size of a college expands so do its technical requirements. A larger number of students calls for a more robust infrastructure. It is in this vein that Southwestern College, a school offering master’s degrees in Art Therapy and Counseling, welcomes Donna Harrington as their new Chief Technology Officer.
“We had contracted our technology needs for several years,” says Dr. James Nolan, President of Southwestern College. “However, with the new counseling center, and a growing student body, we decided that the time was right to have a position dedicated to managing the technological needs of the school.”
Harrington will oversee the networks at both the school and at the Southwest Counseling Center. She is in charge of of maintaining labs and will work with other school officials to anticipate future needs. She is also developing the school’s intranet, and expanding key areas within it.
One of Harrington’s first major duties is working with contractors who are designing the new counseling center. Her role is in designing the network layout of the building as well as addressing the technical requirements of the facility so that both student’s and patient’s needs are met.
“We are delighted with Ms. Harrington,” concludes Nolan. “Her ideals and goals for the school align well with the mission and we are confident that her presence will help Southwestern College continue to provide for the technical needs of our students.”
