Wells Fargo Hosts Free Workshop to Help Angeleno Homeowners Facing Mortgage Payment Challenges

What: Wells Fargo invites thousands of greater Los Angeles homeowners to a free workshop for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, Wells Fargo Financial and Wells Fargo Home Equity customers facing financial hardships. Bilingual representatives will be available to assist borrowers during the event. Many will receive modifications on the spot.

Who: Home retention team members will assist and work one-on-one with mortgage customers facing payment challenges. Borrowers may receive a decision on a loan modification, or other option, on site.
Why: Wells Fargo is making every effort to keep people in their homes through the federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) and the company’s own modification programs focused on mortgage payment relief. From January 2009 through January 2012, Wells Fargo has modified 733,180 mortgage loans – of which 84 percent were done outside of HAMP. In the fourth quarter of 2011, about 92 percent of Wells Fargo’s mortgage customers remained current on their loan payments. Wells Fargo services one out of every six mortgages in the United States, according to Inside Mortgage Finance.
