“At CTU, we’re committed to delivering new and meaningful opportunities for students to grow and maintain their professional networks and knowledge both while they’re enrolled and after graduation,” said Dr. Connie Johnson, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer at CTU. “By streaming through YouTube and taking questions in real-time from attendees via mobile SMS text, CTU Presents webcasts give attendees the opportunity to get exclusive access to today’s thought leaders using tools that fit their fast-paced and connected lives.”

Real-World Problem Solving through Game Design

CTU Presents kicks off on April 17 with a lecture from Jane McGonigal, a designer of alternate reality games that improve lives and solve real-world problems. As part of CTU’s quarterly Doctoral Symposium in Denver, McGonigal will share insights from her New York Times bestselling book, “Reality is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World,” to explain how gaming propels people to uncover their own innovative methods for addressing human needs.

“Translating problem-solving skills from gaming into the worlds of education and business is a key area of focus for me,” McGonigal said. “I am excited to share how game theory can help students develop innovative solutions to real-life challenges that we face at work and in our everyday lives.”

Ferrazzi, an expert in business relationship development and behavioral and organizational change, will present practical ways to grow and cultivate a professional network from his New York Times bestselling books “Never Eat Alone” and “Who’s Got Your Back?”

“Finding success in life and work is all about the quality of our relationships,” said Keith Ferrazzi. “I’m looking forward to helping CTU students understand the impact that connecting with others and maintaining their current relationships can have on their professional career.”
