Merex Group Appoints Jonathan A. Silva as President of MRO Solutions

The Merex Group, a Dubin Clark & Company portfolio company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Silva to the role of President of the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) Solutions business unit. He succeeds former MRO Solutions President, Dan Godin, who has accepted the role as the Chief Executive Officer of Air Industries (AMEX:AIRI).

Silva will be responsible for the full P&L, strategy, and overall leadership of all MRO business units within the Merex Group, including integrated MRO repair stations at ALCO (Livermore, CA), Kellstrom Repair Services, Inc. (Miramar, FL), High Tech Avionics & Accessories (Miramar, FL) and the International Repair Management Services Group (Miramar, FL). His immediate focus will be on the continued development and harmonization of the MRO team into a cohesive, world class business as well as the execution of the business unit growth strategies. As President of MRO Solutions, Silva will also work with the Merex Group business development team on a variety of strategic projects focused on customer account development and follow-on MRO acquisitions. He will report directly to the Merex Group CEO and will be located at the Kellstrom Defense Aerospace, Inc. headquarters in Miramar, FL.

Jon brings over 20 years of experience managing complex aerospace and defense businesses with a focus on the creation of enterprise value that couples sales & marketing with organizational transformation. He is a cross functional leader who builds successful teams that clearly translate financial requirements into operational characteristics across the organization to drive growth and profitability.

Silva was most recently engaged as Vice President and General Manager of Ellwood Texas Forge, a division of Ellwood Group, where he drove significant increases in market share, revenue and margins, and operations transformation through lean manufacturing and new product development processes.

Prior to that, Silva served as General Manager at McWilliams Forge Company, a Subsidiary of Precision Castparts Company (NYSE:PCP), where his business transformation model yielded an impressive and sustainable revenue increase, a new customer base, and the introduction of a suite of new, innovative products.

Previously, Silva held the position of Vice President and General Manager for industrial and defense business units; Spence Engineering Division and Leslie Controls at CIRCOR International (NYSE:CIR) where he implemented comprehensive strategies to address operational performance, customer base, and product line expansion to successfully grow revenue, profits, and market share across the business units.

Silva also spent nearly a decade of his career at Honeywell International (NYSE: HON) at various divisions in roles of increasing responsibility including: SixSigma Leader for the Global Headquarters; Senior Product Line Manager for the Hydro-Mechanical Controls Product Line; Director of Business Development; and Strategic Marketing, Forecasting and Marketing Communications Leader for the Lighting and Electronics Product Line.

Silva holds a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio Wesleyan University, an M.A. in American History from Kansas State University, and a Ph.D. in History from The Ohio State University. He is also a SixSigma Black Belt.
