Altria’s Statement on Philip Morris International’s MRTP Application Submission with the FDA

Altria Group, Inc. (Altria) (NYSE:MO) notes that Philip Morris International Inc. (PMI) today announced the submission of a Modified Risk Tobacco Product (MRTP) application for an electronically heated tobacco product with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Tobacco Products. FDA will now determine whether to accept the application for substantive review. Upon regulatory authorization by the FDA, Altria’s companies have an exclusive license to sell this heated tobacco product in the United States.
