Web.com falls short

Web.com Group Inc. (Nasdaq: WWWW) narrowed second quarter losses to 2 cents per diluted share from 20 cents per diluted share a year earlier but revenue fell short of expectations. The company also announced that it acquired local online directory company in the United Kingdom, Scoot. Shares of the online marketing solutions firm plummeted $6.43 to close at $20.12.
