Dr. Kumar, who did his Plastic Surgery specialty training at Duke University Hospital, is a highly accomplished cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon with an esthetic eye for body contouring. After graduating from Cornell University with Honors, he was accepted into Drexel University College of Medicine. Upon graduating medical school, he entered general surgery residency at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. During his residency, Dr. Kumar also spent one year of research at the New York University Institute of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery studying breast reconstruction and other aesthetic breast procedures. Dr. Kumar received the Senior Resident Academic Achievement Award in his final year of residency. He was then accepted to do further specialty training in plastic surgery at Duke University Hospital where he was also awarded a Pilot Research grant from The Plastic Surgery Foundation.
