Daycare and Childcare, Rainforest Learning Centre of Coquitlam (and Langley) Talk About the Benefits of a Daycare

Selecting a daycare is imperative for your child's future. Are you making the right choice?

COQUITLAM, BC, October 30, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Daycare and Childcare have changed significantly over the years. Growing up, many parents would often be found saying "there is no way I would put my child into a daycare facility," sometimes with a particular stigma attached.

In this day and age, enrolling your child in a childcare facility, providing it is a reputable daycare has extremely valuable beneficial. Jennifer McDougall, owner of two daycares (Rainforest Learning Centre) in Coquitlam and Langley, advises: "The interaction between the kids is paramount at this age. At our daycare for instance, we teach them from an extremely young age the values of respect and manners. This is a key component in our teaching." A single parent at home only has so much energy. When in a daycare environment, teachers are entitled to breaks and the kid's trade-off between different teachers providing new learning experiences. "Another big benefit is the structure that is offered. Again, at such a young age, learning structure is extremely important," continued McDougall.

When selecting a daycare, doing your homework is vital. Selecting a daycare based strictly on location, hours and or cost is not the way to select a daycare. Parents should be keeping mindful that your child's wellbeing in these early years is imperative. The statistics are startling when looking at how parents choose a daycare. McDougall mentioned "would you be shocked to learn that in our research, we found that location, and pricing were more important than what programs were offered and the teachers teaching?"

Another point to consider is just because a daycare is 'big' and may have multiple locations across a country again does not mean 'it is the best'. Rainforest Learning Centre, for example offer the same programs as some larger childcare facilities but in a smaller more intimate environment. Other benefits include the balance between structured learning and open ended learning, a large focus on community involvement and the educating of environmental awareness and respect for our earth. This includes community clean up; Rainforest have adopted their local street and duck pond, and do frequent visits to the recycling depot.
