On the upside
Shares of Novavax (Nasdaq: NVAX) extended its gains as investors anticipate the release of data from four ongoing clinical trials in the third quarter.
Standard & Poor's upgraded Halcon Resources' (NYSE: HK) corporate credit rating from SD (selective default) to B-.
Bill Barrett (NYSE: BBG) chief executive Scot Woodall presented at the Global Hunter Securities 100 Energy Conference today.
On the downside
NN (Nasdaq: NNBR) announced a pubic offering of 6 million common shares.
NRG Yield (NYSE: NYLD) will offer $250 million in convertible senior notes.
New Senior Investment Group (NYSE: SNR) will offer 17.5 million common shares.
In the broad market, advancing issues outpaced decliners by a margin of 7 to 5 on the NYSE and by 9 to 7 on Nasdaq. The broader S&P 500 added a point to 2124. Bitcoin slipped $2 to $245.
