Corpus Christi, TX 2015’s Most Connected City in New Report by BoringDeals

The Internet isn’t the same when it is slow or unreliable. BoringDeals, a telecommunications comparison site, has released a study comparing over 30,000 cities to determine which have the best Internet service, and include a tool for users to see what services are available in their own area.

CINCINNATI, OH - BoringDeals.com has released a study based on over 100 million data points naming the top cities based on internet connectivity, along with the the cities with the best deals for internet service. Eligibility factors to be considered a Most Connected City are: Availability of exceptionally fast internet, the majority of population has choice from multiple providers and a minimum 99% of residents have access to some form of broadband Internet. Cable, Fiber, DSL and wireless (non-cellular) providers were eligible for participation.

Corpus Christi, TX takes home the title of Most Connected City, with nearly 100% of residents having access to broadband, and peak broadband speeds in excess of 300 megabits per second. Corpus Christi is one of two Texas cities named in this year’s list, with the tech hub of Austin also included. Other notable cities in the Top 10 include Kansas City, MO, which features gigabit speed internet service for $70 per month, thanks to Google Fiber’s recent rollout, and Austin TX, with 9 distinct internet providers offering service with speeds up to 400 megabits.

In addition to the most connected cities, the study includes the Best Internet Deals across the country. This portion of the study features the cheapest 10megabit or faster Internet connection, with Google Fiber taking the top spot, with a $0/month price tag if the user elects to pay the $300 setup fee. Cities with the best Internet deals include Provo, UT, Chicago, IL and Warren, MI, with prices starting at $19 per month.
