Just the verbal promise of more QE coming out of Europe was enough to send stocks above some key resistance levels in Thursday's trading session. The S&P closed at 2052.51 (+33.57 / +1.66%) and the Nasdaq-100 settled at 4503.22 (+89.70 / +2.03%).
