21 Additional Industry Leading Companies Join the SCSA Initiative to Enhance Digital Content & 4K Ultra HD Ownership Experiences

The Secure Content Storage Association (SCSA) today announced the addition of several new market-leading Contributing Members spanning the film and entertainment industries, retail, telecommunications, semiconductor, and consumer electronics industries, including: Walmart (NASDAQ), Sprint Corporation (NASDAQ: S), Toshiba (NASDAQ: TOSBF), Broadcom Corporation (NASDAQ: BRCM), Pace, MStar Semiconductor Inc. (NASDAQ: MSTZF), DivX, BluFocus, ST Micro and others. SCSA also announced additional international digital retail contributors—Chili TV, Strefa TV, and Wuaki TV.

The new contributors join an expansive group of 50 SCSA participating companies from the entertainment and technology industries. Home Entertainment, SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK), and Western Digital (NYSE: WDC), the new SCSA members reflect growing and wide-ranging support of SCSA’s pioneering vision to securely deliver premium content and provide consumers with the best digital ownership experience.

Intelsat’s recently released Global Survey of Media Executives, which captured the thoughts of the industry’s leading media executives on the state of 4K Ultra HDTV adoption, revealed that over 80% expected 4K UHDTV to become part of mainstream within the next 10 years. SCSA seeks to be at the forefront of 4K Ultra HD entertainment by providing consumers with playback of the highest quality downloadable content.
