Bloomberg reported that St. Jude Medical Inc. (NYSE: STJ) was interested in buying Thoratec Corp. (Nasdaq: THOR). Shares of St. Jude Medical added 14 cents to close at $76.71 while Thoratec stock leaped $8.77 to close at $57.58.
