- Providing Support for NB-LTE Technology – On September 11, 2015, Intel Corporation announced its support for Narrow-Band Long-Term Evolution (NB-LTE) technology as the ideal wireless connectivity solution for the growing Internet of Things (IoT) market segment. The Company informed that NB-LTE is an optimized variant of the widely deployed 4G LTE technology, and is well-suited for the IoT market segment because of its low implementation cost, ease of use and power efficiency.

- Collaboration with Ericsson and Nokia – Intel mentioned that it plans to work closely with Ericsson and Nokia to develop and bring to market the products which are needed for the commercialization of NB-LTE timed with market demand. In addition, the Company informed that it intends to support commercial rollout of the technology with a roadmap for NB-LTE chipsets and product upgrades beginning in 2016 that will enable slim form factors. Intel noted that the required network upgrades to support an extension of existing LTE networks will be provided by Nokia and Ericsson. Stefan Wolff, Vice President, Platform Engineering Group and General Manager of the Multi-Comms Business Unit, Intel said that the Company is excited to collaborate with two leading network vendors, Ericsson and Nokia, on the next wave of wireless innovation to connect the growing IoT market segment, and to further grow the momentum for Intel's LTE portfolio and roadmap with NB-LTE.

- Unveiled Range of Products Designs – In another release dated September 10, 2015, Intel announced launch of range of product designs for improved in-home entertainment content delivery and quality through the Cloud. The release stated that Intel solutions are helping content delivery providers make the leap to an all IP world with high-performance, power efficient solutions in the data center, the network and the home. The Company mentioned that its new products include the Intel(R) Visual Compute Accelerator for Intel(R) Xeon(R) processor-based servers, the Intel(R) Puma(TM) 7 SoC for cable home gateways, and the Intel(R) AnyWAN(TM) GRX550 for xDSL and Fiber home gateways.

- Highlights of the New Products – Intel stated that Intel Visual Compute Accelerator (Intel® VCA) has media and graphics capabilities for Intel Xeon processor E5-based servers for low-power, high-density, scalable solutions that address the needs of telecom, streaming media, and SP/CSP for growth, quality delivery and diversified services. Further, Intel VCA can also be paired with the recently announced Intel® Media Server Studio 2016 for fast media transcoding. The Company informed that the Intel Puma 7 SoC will enable cable operators to deploy true multi-gigabit broadband services with the latest DOCSIS 3.1 technology, which will increase broadband speeds to up to 5 gigabits per second. On the other hand, the new Intel AnyWAN GRX550 network processor enables cutting-edge quality of service, premium user experience, and unparalleled routing and data throughput. The GRX550 can support any kind of WAN technology including DSL, G.fast, Fiber or Gigabit Ethernet.
