Impelsys, a global leader in providing electronic content delivery
solutions, today announced the release of iPublishCentral 3.2, a new
version of its award-winning digital publishing software platform, which
now features expanded support for mobile devices.
iPublishCentral is a comprehensive platform that allows any organization
to publish, deliver, distribute and market their eBooks without making
significant development investments on their own. Earlier this year, the
iPublishCentral platform was recognized as one of the Top 8 SaaS-based
Apps in NASSCOM’s 2011 Product Showcase.
“The new version of iPublishCentral contains a number of important new
features, but there are two particular innovations that we believe will
excite our customers,” said Anil Gopinath, executive vice president of
global engineering for Impelsys. “First, we have enhanced our
‘Bookstore-as-an-App’ framework to support the major mobile devices in
the world today, including iPad, iPhone and Android-based smartphones
and tablets. Second, we now offer multi-format functionality, which
makes it possible for publishers to publish eBooks in multiple formats –
such as PDF, ePUB and mobi – so that readers can choose an appropriate
format based on their reading preferences and devices. Publishers can
also choose to set a specific price for each file format.”
Other major enhancements to the iPublishCentral platform that were built
into the newly released version include:
Role based access control – the software administrator can now define
groups and permissions for each user within the organization who needs
access to iPublishCentral;
Enhancements to the subscription process for institutions – publishers
can now offer title subscriptions for any duration;
Wider distribution – the distribute module has been enhanced to
support distribution to Barnes & Noble, Blio, Christian Book
Distributors, Copia, Kobo, Ebook Corporation, Monergism and OverDrive;
and
Enhanced reporting – iPublishCentral can now provide breakout reports
on sales of individual titles that were made on the web, iTunes and
Android marketplace.
“With iPublishCentral 3.2, we are enabling publishers to deliver their
books on the cloud, meeting the demands of their customers who want
access to their books on all major platforms,” said Sameer Shariff,
founder and chief executive officer of Impelsys. “As the eBook market
explodes, we are excited about the value proposition of iPublishCentral
and committed to innovate further to help publishers with the ever
challenging complexity of online book delivery.”
