Bank of America Corporation (BAC)U.S. bank stocks rose in preopen trading on Tuesday after Credit Suisse upgraded the sector to overweight and said it expects it to report surprisingly strong third-quarter loan growth. Citigroup Inc. (C) Count Keefe, Bruyette & Woods among those that are betting Citigroup C+1.31% will be able to return capital to shareholders next year. The KBW analysts today upgraded Citi to outperform from market perform saying they expect the bank to get approval for capital deployment next year, aided by the expectation that the bank will continue to shed unwanted assets in its Citi Holdings portfolio and will boost its Basel III capital levels.
