Stocks finished lower for a third straight day as economic worries diminished investors appetite for risk. The market is in a bit of a holding pattern ahead of a slew of corporate reports due in the next few weeks. In addition to earnings, investors took in the current edition of the Federal Reserve's latest snapshot of economic conditions across its 12 districts. The Beige Book report noted "widespread improvement" in housing which has helped increase economic activity since August.
