“Mobile security is an integral part of our business,” said Todd
Gebhart, co-president, McAfee. “Ari’s experience in developing mobile
and wireless software and hardware products for large, high-tech
companies will prove to be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and
strengthen our mobile product portfolio. He has built and led successful
teams globally for well known mobile brands, and we’re excited to have
him on board.”
Most recently, Jaaksi held the position of senior vice president of HP’s
WebOS Software and Services. In this role, Ari was responsible for the
software product management, user experience, client and cloud software
development, and 24/7 operation related to the WebOS phones and tablets.
Prior to HP, Jaaksi worked at Nokia for twelve years in a range of
senior positions. In his last job at Nokia, he led the team responsible
for software, hardware, user experience and developer activities for
Nokia’s high end mobile phones.
“I’ve looked at many companies and technologies and I’m very excited to
join the McAfee team,” said Jaaksi. “McAfee takes the need for mobile
security seriously— safeguarding mobile devices, the data on those
devices and the privacy of the user itself. I’m looking forward to
working with McAfee to extend their reach and bring new technology
innovations to their customers.”
Jaaksi holds a Ph.D. from Tampere University of Technology in Finland,
where he also served as a professor of computer science. Jaaksi will
report directly to Gebhart and is based in Santa Clara, Calif.
