Weekly Earnings Calendar: Down-and-Out Stocks Report
By: Wyatt Investment Research
Posted on February 19, 2013 at 11:19 AM EST
Dell (NASDAQ: DELL) and Herbalife (NYSE: HLF) have been all over the financial headlines of late – and not for good reasons. Both stocks have plummeted in the last year. Dell is down 24%, Herbalife has declined 38%. Herbalife has attracted publicity for being at the center of a childish debate between billionaire investors Carl Icahn and Bill Ackman . Ackman hates the stock, Icahn likes it – and that’s merely scratching the surface of where the two men differ. Dell , meanwhile, could be on the cusp of going private as PC sales have stagnated in recent years. And the mere thought of going private isn’t making company founder Michael Dell any friends. So it’s fitting that the two struggling companies report earnings on the same day. Dell and Herbalife each report earnings after the bell today. Here are several other companies set to report earnings in this Presidents Day-shortened week: Tuesday Dell Herbalife Wednesday BHP Billiton (NYSE: BHP) Dish Network (NASDAQ: DISH) Toll Brothers (NYSE: TOLL) Tesla Motors (NASDAQ: TSLA) Yamana Gold (NYSE: AUY) Thursday Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK) Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ) Newmont Mining (NYSE: NEM) Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) Friday Abercrombie & Fitch (NYSE: ANF) The Washington Post (NYSE: WPO)
