PRLog - Sep. 29, 2014 - MIAMI -- 3-time PGA Tour winner and 2002 Comeback Player of the Year Gene Sauers recently signed with Upside Media Group (UMG) Global, a sports agency based out Miami, FL and Chicago, IL. Sauers, who is currently 7th in the Charles Schwab Cup on the Champions Tour, will have Upside Media Group handle his marketing and endorsement deals.
Sauers debuted on the PGA Tour in 1984. In 2007, after having won three PGA Tour wins, he was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a rare, life-threatening skin condition. Sauers was given just a 25% chance to live, but he overcame the potentially fatal adversity with over two months of intense treatment.
Sauers started playing golf again less than three years ago and has made quite the comeback. He is currently 10th in the money rank standings, and has three top 10 finishes in 2014. Upside Media Group, who has most of its clients primarily in basketball, offers Sauers and its clients various services, including marketing and endorsements, and post career planning.
