Guatemala Aid Fund: Holiday Fundraising

By: PRLog
PRLog - Dec. 11, 2014 - Guatemala Aid Fund is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing hope and opportunity for less fortunate children and families in Guatemala.

This year, dozens of Guatemalan-made items have already been donated to the Holiday Fundraising Campaign. Guatemala Aid Fund hopes to raise just $500 for each of their orphanages and partner programs in order to cover the cost of new shoes, medicine and other supplies. Minus the shipping costs, all the money used to purchase items from Guatemala Aid Fund go directly to their programs.

This non-profit was established in 2001 by one single woman, Bethany Eisenberg Zeeb, who just felt the need to give back. Today, the organization is run 100 percent by volunteers. The work is funded entirely through donations, which go to directly to one of the programs, including: one of two private orphanages, a family assistance program or a volunteer-run health care facility.

This year marks the second year that No More Poverty and co-founder Cindy Omidi have joined in the fight with and supported Guatemala Aid Fund. No Move Poverty strives to combat poverty all around the world. Guatemala has the fourth highest rate of chronic malnutrition in the world, and an estimated 75 percent of the population lives below the poverty line. Cindy Omidi, No More Poverty and Guatemala Aid Fund remind you to keep in mind those who can’t afford to buy holiday presents themselves. If you would like to join the fight against poverty, you can learn more or donate today at Guatemala Aid Fund.
